Deadline Sept 1 NEW USDA Food and Nutrition Services is requesting applications for the Participation Assistance for Farmers and Farmers' Markets Grants (increasing SNAP participation at markets). Congress is currently considering the Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization (CNR), which provides opportunity to open new markets for local food in schools. Two bipartisan bills supporting farm to school work have been introduced for the inclusion in the CNR: The Farm to School Act of 2019 and the Kids Eat Local Act.
