Deadline Nov 1 Michigan Good Food Fund announces Catalytic Investment Awards for five Michigan businesses. Deadline Nov 8 NEW SeedMoney is offering their crowdfunding platform and small matching grants for food gardens. Deadline Nov 12 The Gates Foundation is accepting grant applications for their Voices for Economy Opportunity award. Deadline Nov 13 The Conservation Fund is seeking applicants for the Grant Program for Transporting Healthy Foods.Deadline Nov 27 United Fresh Start Foundation is accepting applications for the Community Innovation Grants Program. Back to top EVENTS & ACTIONS Action! Congress is currently considering the Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization (CNR), which provides opportunity to open new markets for local food in schools. Two bipartisan bills supporting farm to school work have been introduced for the inclusion in the CNR: The Farm to School Act of 2019 and the Kids Eat Local Act. Learn more about how to support this work from the supporting organizations, The National Farm to School Network and the National Sustainable Ag Coalition.  The HEAL Alliance is seeking support for the No Shame at School Act. Earlier this year Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-5) and Sen.Tina Smith (D-MN) introduced legislation that would provide protections for students and their families with school lunch debt. The No Shame at School Act allows school districts to be retroactively reimbursed for unpaid lunch fees and bars collection agencies from seeking unpaid lunch fees.
