2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon application Every October, runners from across the country and around the world unite on the streets of Chicago to conquer 26.2 miles and call themselves Bank of America Chicago Marathon finishers! The 2019 race welcomed an event record of more than 45,000 runners across the finish line, countless personal bests and a new women's world record. Don't miss your opportunity to run the fast and flat streets of Chicago on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Runners can apply guaranteed or non-guaranteed entry applications. The 2020 application will close at 2 p.m. (U.S. Central Time) on Tuesday, December 3. For more information on the 2020 application click here. Racing around the world The Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) is a series consisting of six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world: Tokyo Marathon, Boston Marathon, Virgin Money London Marathon, BMW Berlin-Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon. The organizers of these events are united in their effort to provide global leadership in elite and mass participation marathons and to continue to advance the sport forward. The Abbott World Marathon Majors series rewards the sport's top elite athletes for winning the series at the same time that it invites participation from athletes who are drawn to competing around the globe. The AbbottWMM celebrates everyday runners with their 6-star program and Wanda Age Group World Rankings. Once a runner completes one of the races, they can start collecting AbbottWMM stars. Runners who complete all six races will receive a certificate and an AbbottWMM Six Star Finisher Medal, as well as a place in the AbbottWMM Hall of Fame! Runners over 40 can score points based on their performance and be included in the Wanda Age Group World Rankings. The year-long rankings period offers more than 175 events on which to score points. Their best two scores during the year will count towards their final ranking and determine who gets invited to the 2021 Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group World Championships!
