Congratulations 2019 finishers
Congratulations to all of the runners who helped usher in a record setting day on the streets of Chicago at the 42nd running of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

This year's event saw the return of the world record to the City of Chicago! On October 13, 2002, Paula Radcliffe ran the last world record on American soil, 2:17:18. On the anniversary of that feat, Kenya's Brigid Kosgei embarked on a solo campaign to smash Radcliffe's world record, 2:15:25 - set in 2003 in London - to run 2:14:04.

Following in Kosgei's footsteps was a record breaking field of more than 45,000 runners. As each runner crossed the finish line, they wrote their name in the history books, pushing the number of Chicago Marathon finishers past 900,000 since the first race in 1977.

Congratulations to everyone who helped contribute to the record setting day. Learn more about the day's performances by reading the 2019 post-race press release.
