Curating Farms and Hair Care

Since 2014, The Grebel Peace Incubator has supported two dozen peace start-ups as they innovate solutions to address local and global community challenges. During the fall term, the Centre for Peace Advancement was overjoyed to welcome two new ventures: Green Care Farms Inc. and BeBlended. Time for Canada to join the nuclear abolition movement?

This month, a conference brought together some of the country's foremost experts on nuclear weapons to discuss the legal, normative, and moral reasons for joining the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Upcoming events

Leading a Collective Impact Initiative
Tamarack Institute is hosting a virtual workshop series on January 18, 25 and February 1, 2022. This three-part virtual workshop is designed specifically to build the capacity of Collective Impact backbone staff and leaders. Participants will leave with a solid understanding of how to translate the theory of Collective Impact into practice and have access to tools and resources to create and lead successful Collective Impact efforts.

MCC Peace & Justice Student Seminar
From February 22 - 24, 2022 Canadian university/college students can join MCC staff, parliamentarians, and civil society actors to learn about Canada's public discourse and political landscape relating to climate change. Applications to attend this hybrid seminar at the Kitchener MCC office are due by January 31, 2022. For more information, view MCC's event page.

Employment & engagement opportunities

Map the System 2022 Registration
Map the System 2022 a competition that asks individuals or teams to select a social or environmental issue and to explore, probe, and research all the connecting elements and factors around it. Participants compete for the chance to win cash prizes and participate in the Canadian and Global Finals. Registration closes January 31, 2022.
