With the cold weather fast approaching, now is a great time for credit unions to review their loss prevention plans for dealing with the inevitable ice and snow. Staff, members, and passers-by are all at risk of slipping on fallen leaves, ice, snow, and all of the hidden hazards buried underneath these ground coverings. Claims for injuries are very common for B.C. credit unions throughout the year, but the statistics suggest that injuries are more severe, and therefore more costly, during the winter.​
