B.C. housing market in recovery; growing population, lower borrowing costs and pent-up demand to drive higher prices and sales

B.C.'s housing market is recovering much quicker than anticipated after the 2018 downturn, according to Central 1 deputy chief economist Bryan Yu in the latest B.C. Resale Market Housing Outlook 2019-2021.

Ontario Economic Briefing- November 22

• Decelerating goods prices kept headline inflation unchanged in October
• Weaker sales in several durable and non-durable goods sectors kept  overall manufacturing sales growth nearly unchanged in September
• Tourist visits nearly unchanged for the second consecutive month in September
• Retail sales rebounded slightly in September after posting weaker sales in the previous month

B.C. Economic Briefing- November 22

• B.C. brick and mortar retail sales lose ground in September, e-commerce rising
• Food prices prop up consumer price inflation
• Manufacturing sales bounce higher by 3.7 per cent, trend still weak
