The theme for the United Nation's International Day of Peace 2020, "Shaping Peace Together," calls us to unity, collaboration, and kindness in the face of the violence and isolation we are seeing in our world right now.
This call for connection resonates with the Centre for Peace Advancement community, which is catalyzing meaningful connection around issues of justice and peace. We will be commemorating Peace Week 2020 by hosting conversations with Centre for Peace Advancement participants, partners, and staff that highlight their journeys as peacebuilders. These stories will be shared with our community through short, documentary-style videos throughout the Fall of 2020.
Grebel team pursues solutions with Pandemic Challenge
The Pandemic Challengewrapped up its competition earlier this month, with the top 3 teams receiving $3K investments to further pursue their ideas.
Over 130 students participated in the Challenge, and 25 teams prepared submissions for the Pandemic Challenge Fund. A team made up of Grebel students was among the top 10 finalists.
Students and organizers gathered to learn from experts on topics such as peacebuilding and community organization. The 9 students are excited to get started on their projects and enjoyed getting to meet their new community of young peacebuilders.
Stay tuned for updates as the students begin their projects.
