European Council President Donald Tusk described the latest delay as a "flextension," meaning the United Kingdom could leave the EU sooner if a deal is ratified. Tusk said this deferral 'may be the last one.' Everyone is exhausted. Everyone wants to get done with this. And everyone continues to ask what progress has been made and where we stand on this today. | | There will be a general election on Dec. 12, in less than six weeks. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party is still leading in the polls and currently has 44 percent of the total seats in the House of Commons. That is one of the reasons he is pushing for the election so soon.
